An emerald cut diamond is a step cut, not a brilliant cut stone. Instead of triangular facets designed for maximum sparkle, it uses long, open rectangular facets that create a hall of mirrors effect, with wide flashes of light rather than intense fire. This makes clarity more visible than in a round or oval diamond, so we select a higher clarity grade for every emerald cut centre stone.
